As a young girl, I, Bonnie Greene, was always captivated by my grandmother’s stories of her beloved diamond ring—a symbol of love and commitment passed down through generations. Every Sunday, she would catch me admiring the sparkle on her finger, and each time, she’d smile and say, “Diamonds are like stars you can hold in your hand.” Those words stayed with me and ignited my lifelong fascination with gemstones.
As I grew older, my fascination with diamonds grew into a passion for creating jewelry. But with it came the knowledge of the environmental impact and ethical concerns surrounding mined diamonds. Knowing the truth behind the sparkle made me question if there was a better, more responsible way to bring beauty into the world.
